A boiler exploded on Friday at a glue-making factory in Faisalabad, Punjab, killing at least 15 workers and injuring seven others, local officials said. The blast ignited a fire that severely damaged the factory building and nearby homes and sparked panic in the surrounding neighborhood.

Local administrator Raja Jahangir said the explosion set off a blaze and caused widespread fear among residents. Police official Mohammad Aslam reported that emergency teams were on scene treating the injured and working to secure the area.

Authorities have arrested the factory manager and are searching for the owner, who reportedly fled the site shortly after the blast. The exact cause of the explosion has not been determined; an official investigation is under way.

Emergency responders continue to assess structural damage and account for victims. Officials urged residents to avoid the immediate area while investigators and safety teams make the site safe and carry out their inquiries.
