Police have made a ninth arrest in the investigation into the fatal shooting of Kassim Mohammed in Sheffield on 30 September. A 29-year-old was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and has been bailed pending further inquiries. Ninth person arrested as police probe fatal Sheffield shooting

Police investigating the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Kassim Mohammed in Sheffield have made a ninth arrest in the case.

Mr Mohammed was killed on 30 September on Watery Street in the Upperthorpe area of the city. South Yorkshire Police say a 29-year-old man was arrested on Friday on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Previously, seven men aged 18, 20, 22, 27, 30, 31 and 35, and a 31-year-old woman were arrested and also released on bail while investigations continue.

Mr Mohammed's family said his death would "leave a void in our hearts that will never be filled."

"Kassim was a devoted young father, a loving son and a kind, family-orientated man whose caring nature touched everyone around him," the family added.

Officers have not released further details about the circumstances of the shooting or whether additional arrests are expected. Detectives continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward and urged anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam footage or knowledge of the incident to contact South Yorkshire Police.
