A Harvard Medical School building has reopened as investigators pursue a "very active" probe into an intentional explosion on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building. An officer reported seeing two people running from the scene, and police later released grainy images of two masked individuals. The Boston Fire Department determined the blast was deliberate; no other devices were found and no one was injured. Officials say the affected hallway segment was cleared, there was no structural damage, and all labs and equipment remain intact.

Harvard Medical School building reopens after deliberate blast
A Harvard Medical School building has reopened while authorities continue a "very active" investigation into a weekend explosion that officials say was intentionally set off.
University police said an officer who responded to a fire alarm early Saturday encountered two people running from the Goldenson Building. The blast occurred on the fourth floor, which houses laboratories and offices associated with the medical school's Department of Neurobiology.
The Boston Fire Department concluded the explosion was deliberate, and officers conducting a sweep of the building did not locate any additional devices, police said. No injuries were reported.
"The small section of the fourth-floor hallway where the explosion took place has been cleared and is fully operational. There was no structural damage to the building, and all labs and equipment remain intact," medical school officials said in a statement.
An FBI spokesperson on Monday declined to provide further comment, describing the probe only as "very active." Police released grainy images showing two individuals wearing face coverings and what appeared to be sweatshirts; authorities have not yet identified them publicly.
School officials said inspections found no structural damage and that labs and equipment remain intact, allowing the building to reopen after the affected corridor was cleared.
In recent months, President Donald Trump has publicly singled out Harvard with a series of investigations and proposals to reduce federal funding as part of pressure to change university policies and governance. Authorities have not tied those developments to the explosion.
