Seven Arrested as Dodgers Fans Celebrate World Series Victory Across Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Police Department said seven people were arrested Saturday night after Dodgers fans flooded streets across the city to celebrate the team's World Series win. The incidents spanned several neighborhoods and prompted an elevated police response.

Arrests and Charges

Seven people were taken into custody, according to the LAPD: three were booked on felony vandalism charges; others were arrested for failure to disperse, battery on a police officer, and possession of fireworks. In a separate incident, a woman was detained after she rode a bicycle into a mounted officer's horse; officials said the horse is reportedly OK.

Vandalism and Sideshow Activity

In Echo Park, reports and on-scene footage showed vandalism to several storefronts, a driverless vehicle and Metro buses. In Pacoima, a large group of fans staged a sideshow, taking over an intersection while cars performed "donut" maneuvers and onlookers set off fireworks.

Police Response

The LAPD placed the department on Tactical Alert at about 6 p.m. in anticipation of postgame gatherings and closed streets in several neighborhoods to help manage crowds. As crowds grew, officers issued dispersal orders at Chick Hearn Court and 11th Street and later at Sunset Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue. Mounted officers patrolled parts of the city as police directed people to leave areas where public safety was at risk.
