The Board Of Peace says it is actively continuing work on its Gaza roadmap while deliberately timing public moves ahead of Israel’s elections. A board source told i24News, "We are not stepping back," and emphasized the group does not disclose every action. Israeli officials report ongoing operations to degrade Hamas, including a strike that targeted leader Ali al‑Amoudi, whose fate remains unconfirmed. Military Intelligence figures cited in Israeli media put the number killed from the Oct. 7 infiltrations at about 4,000 of roughly 6,000.
Board Of Peace Keeps Gaza Roadmap On Track, Timing Moves Ahead Of Israeli Elections

The Board Of Peace says it is continuing to advance its Gaza roadmap while deliberately calibrating the timing of public statements and actions ahead of Israel’s upcoming elections, a source within the body told i24News diplomatic correspondent Guy Azriel.
“We are not stepping back,” the Board source said, adding that the body does not publicize every element of its work — much as it avoided daily bulletins during past negotiations with Hamas.
Timing And Objectives
The source said the Board is being strategic about when to act and when to speak publicly so that, when implementation begins, a Palestinian technocratic administration can enter Gaza, demilitarization can proceed and authority can be fully transferred. The source did not provide a timetable for those steps.
Security Context
The remarks followed an earlier post by Azriel citing a senior Israeli security official who described ongoing operations aimed at degrading Hamas. That official told Azriel Hamas is increasingly “pursued,” with fewer weapons, greater reliance on improvised or nonstandard equipment and diminished offensive capabilities among some operatives. Operations against infrastructure, weapons stores and production facilities are continuing, the source said, to hinder the group’s ability to reconstitute its capabilities.
The Board source told Azriel the effort to move the Gaza roadmap forward continues despite Israeli operations, including a recent strike that targeted Hamas’s Gaza leader, Ali al‑Amoudi. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed it conducted a strike on Saturday targeting al‑Amoudi but said the outcome remains under review; his status has not been independently confirmed.
Casualty Figures Reported
Separately, The Jerusalem Post reported that Military Intelligence chief Maj.-Gen. Shlomi Binder told the security cabinet that about 4,000 of roughly 6,000 people who entered Israel from Gaza on October 7 have been killed — a figure cited to Israeli officials and reported by the paper. Those numbers have not been independently verified in this report.
