StePacPPC has unveiled the patent-pending Xgo PAZ Pouch, a resealable flexible-film pack that integrates modified-atmosphere control, humidity management and condensation regulation to keep moisture-sensitive produce fresh for up to 16 days. In 16-day simulated supply-chain trials, the pouch achieved a 29 percentage-point quality advantage for organic baby cucumbers versus top-sealed containers and a 10-point gain over macro-perforated packaging. Commercial users include Wholesum Family Farms for baby cucumbers and Freshway Produce for exotic fruits, enabling packing at harvest and eliminating secondary packing steps.
StePacPPC Launches Resealable Xgo PAZ Pouch to Keep Produce Fresh Up to 16 Days

StePacPPC has introduced the patent-pending Xgo PAZ Pouch, a resealable flexible-film retail pouch designed to extend the shelf life of moisture-sensitive produce across supply chains, retail shelves and home refrigeration.
Three Functions in One Pouch
The Xgo Modified Atmosphere (MAP) films combine three critical functions—modified-atmosphere control, humidity management and condensation regulation—within a single pouch format. By regulating internal gas composition and moisture levels, the pouch aims to maintain produce firmness, colour and flavour for up to 16 days.
Proven Results in Trials
In 16-day trials that simulated real supply-chain conditions, the PAZ format delivered a 29 percentage-point higher quality outcome for organic baby cucumbers compared with top-sealed containers. The pouch also showed a 10 percentage-point improvement over macro-perforated packaging for organic mini cucumbers, according to StePacPPC.
Commercial Use Cases
North America’s Wholesum Family Farms is using 8 oz. Xgo pouches for its "Lil' Ones Organic Baby Cucumbers." Florida-based Freshway Produce applies the format across its exotic fruit range—longan, pitaya, lychee and rambutan—allowing produce to be packed at harvest and eliminating the need for secondary packing on arrival in the United States.
Gary Ward, CTO of StePacPPC: "With traditional laminated pouches, achieving a modified atmosphere for shelf-life extension often comes at the expense of optimal moisture control. Conversely, macro-perforation improves moisture control but undermines atmosphere regulation and increases dehydration risk. The Xgo PAZ pouch's three-in-one design overcomes this trade-off, helping maintain produce appearance and quality, extending marketability and ultimately reducing food waste and costs."
The resealable format is positioned for retail-ready applications where extended shelf life, reduced shrink and simplified logistics (such as packing at source) can deliver value to suppliers, retailers and consumers.
