A woman was arrested after hotel staff say she tried to charge a roughly $66 meal to a hotel room at the Grand Hyatt inside Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and then left without paying.
The hotel manager, who appears to be the employee who called police in a clip reshared by X user @Serenitee_Sam, said staff had become suspicious because the woman had been seen entering the hotel multiple times. During this visit she sat down, ordered food and — instead of paying — reportedly wrote "Room 314" on the bill so the charge could be posted to the room she said belonged to her father.
When the woman left without settling the tab, staff checked the room number and found it unoccupied, prompting them to contact law enforcement. According to the video, officers searched the property and later located a person matching the woman’s description inside the airport.
During questioning she initially insisted her father would pay and said he was upstairs with her passport. Officers told her the room number was not registered to any guest and asked whether she could pay. She then gave a new account, claiming a bartender named David had agreed to cover the bill.
Officers went to confirm with the bartender, and according to the clip he denied any agreement to pay. Police warned the woman she could be arrested for theft of services if the charge was not settled. She appeared incredulous, asking how someone could be arrested "over a hamburger."
"In what country do you do that?" she asks as officers place her in handcuffs, later telling an officer, "I am a god."
The exchange continues in the video as officers escort her out. Online responses to the clip were mixed, with some commenters mocking the price of the meal and others questioning the woman's behavior and mental state.
