At a televised Cabinet meeting at Camp David, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. compared President Trump to his late uncle, John F. Kennedy, praising both JFK's openness and Trump's frequent press engagement. RFK Jr., 79, said he hadn't returned to Camp David in 62 years and recalled family visits between 1961 and 1963. He contrasted JFK's roughly 30 press conferences in about 1,000 days with what he described as Mr. Trump's near-daily press events.
RFK Jr. Compares Trump to His 'Transparent' Uncle JFK During Camp David Cabinet Meeting

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. offered an unexpected compliment to President Donald Trump during a Cabinet meeting at Camp David, likening the president to his late uncle, President John F. Kennedy.
According to People (Aug. 1), the 79-year-old secretary recalled childhood weekends at the presidential retreat and told the 80-year-old president that he had not returned in 62 years.
“Before the press came and you asked all the Cabinet members who had been to Camp David before — I think about three-quarters of them had. I raised my hand, but I haven't been here for 62 years,” RFK Jr. said.
RFK Jr. said his family visited Camp David "as many weekends as we could between 1961 and 1963," and that both his father and his uncle cherished the place.
He also praised President Trump's engagement with the media, drawing a direct contrast to what he described as John F. Kennedy's relatively limited number of press conferences.
“My uncle prided himself on being the most open, transparent administration in history. During his 1,000 days in office, he had about 30 press conferences. You, Mr. President, have press conferences every day,” RFK Jr. said.
According to the report, President Trump smiled as RFK Jr. spoke. The remarks came during what was described as the first televised Cabinet meeting ever held at Camp David, where the secretary shared personal memories and made the comparison in front of other Cabinet members.
