North Carolina Hot-Dog Vendor Says Tractor Supply Banned Him After Pro‑Trump Posts — 'I Fed Employees For Free'

Jeff Hartman, owner of All American Hot Dogs, says Tractor Supply told him he was barred from all its North Carolina stores after he posted pro‑Trump comments on his personal Facebook page. Hartman says he regularly fed store employees for free and that a regional manager notified him of the ban. His video on X prompted supportive responses and calls to boycott Tractor Supply, but The Daily Dot could not independently verify the vendor’s account and the retailer had not responded.

Jeff Hartman, owner of All American Hot Dogs, says Tractor Supply barred him from operating at its stores across North Carolina after he posted pro‑Trump comments on his personal Facebook page. Hartman shared his account in a video on X, saying the regional manager informed him the company had prohibited his concession from all Tractor Supply properties.

Hartman said his team was set up at a Tractor Supply in Spring Lake, N.C., when store management told them they were no longer allowed to do business on any company premises. He emphasized the contested posts were made on his personal Facebook account, not on the All American Hot Dogs business page.

Free Meals for Employees: Hartman told viewers that his business regularly provided free meals to local store managers and employees — a practice he framed as a goodwill gesture and one reason he finds the ban especially disappointing.

"I really find that it's unfair that I'm not allowed to sell my hot dogs at all on any Tractor Supply premises. It's kind of disappointing," Hartman said in the video.

The video generated largely supportive responses on social media. Viewers urged a boycott of Tractor Supply, tagged the retailer for an explanation, and compared the episode to previous corporate controversies that prompted consumer backlash. Some commenters suggested alternative retailers such as Rural King.

Others used the incident to reopen debate over whether a business owner's personal political views should affect commercial relationships and access to retail properties.

Verification: The Daily Dot reported it could not independently verify Hartman's claims, and Tractor Supply had not issued a public response at the time of the report. Without confirmation from the company or additional documentation, the details of the alleged ban remain unverified.

What To Watch

Follow-up items include any official statement from Tractor Supply, further documentation from Hartman (such as written notices), and whether the social media-driven calls for a boycott gain traction.
