At least eight people were killed and 14 injured in what local Russian-installed officials described as Ukrainian drone strikes on a tourist facility in Kyrylivka, Melitopol district. Officials say victims included minors, though those details could not be independently verified. Kyiv has intensified drone-based counter-attacks amid more than four years of war with Russia and has urged civilians in occupied areas to flee.

Authorities in the Russian-occupied part of southern Zaporizhzhya reported on Saturday that at least eight people were killed and 14 others wounded in what they described as Ukrainian drone strikes.

The overnight attack reportedly struck a tourist facility in the village of Kyrylivka, in the Melitopol district. Yevgeny Balitsky, the Moscow-appointed head of the regional administration, said the victims included minors.

"At least eight people were killed and 14 injured," Balitsky said, adding that some victims were children. These details could not be independently verified.

Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia's full-scale invasion for more than four years with support from Western countries. In recent months, Kyiv has stepped up counter-attacks in Russian-held areas, increasingly relying on armed drones.

Officials in Kyiv have repeatedly urged civilians who remain in occupied territories to leave for their safety. Both sides routinely provide differing accounts of incidents in the conflict zone; independent verification on the ground is often limited.

Note: Casualty figures and circumstances of the strike are reported by Russian-installed authorities and have not been independently confirmed.
