Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned Friday that Russia may carry out a large-scale missile strike within 48 hours, saying the attack could occur "as early as today." He urged citizens to obey air-raid alerts after authorities reported preliminary indications of an imminent strike. Earlier the same day, a Russian strike on a weapons exhibition west of Kyiv killed 10 and injured about 100. The warning underscores ongoing risks to civilians amid the conflict that began in February 2022.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned Friday evening that Russia may launch a large-scale missile strike against Ukraine within the next 48 hours, saying preliminary information indicates the attack could occur "as early as today." He urged Ukrainians to remain vigilant and to follow all air-raid alerts and official guidance.

In a brief video address, Zelensky said authorities were monitoring credible indications of a fresh, massive strike and called on citizens not to ignore warnings issued by air-defence services.

'This strike could happen as early as today. According to preliminary information, it is expected within the next 48 hours,' Zelensky said in the address.

Earlier on the same day, a Russian missile strike hit what Zelensky described as a weapons exhibition west of Kyiv, killing 10 people and injuring around 100. Officials have described those casualty figures as preliminary while investigations continue.

Since February 2022, Ukraine has been defending itself against a full-scale Russian invasion with support from Western countries. Zelensky's warning highlights the ongoing threat to civilians and infrastructure and reinforces the importance of heeding air-raid warnings and staying informed through official channels.
