Fourteen people were arrested after a months-long, multiagency probe uncovered a smuggling network that allegedly supplied dual-use materials to the West Bank. Authorities seized roughly 175 kg of material believed usable in explosive devices. Officials say an Israeli citizen, working with several Palestinians, moved millions of shekels worth of components and failed to fully report income. The investigation, led by the Border Police Investigations Division and the Tax Authority, is ongoing and further arrests are expected.

Fourteen people were arrested on Monday after a months-long, multiagency investigation uncovered a smuggling network suspected of supplying materials used to manufacture explosive devices in the West Bank.

Operation and Investigation

The operation was carried out jointly by Border Police units, IDF intelligence teams and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency). The probe was led by the Border Police Investigations Division in coordination with the Tax Authority and unfolded covertly over several months before authorities moved in.

Officials said the operation was prompted by a recent uptick in explosive attacks in the West Bank that caused injuries and fatalities among IDF and Border Police personnel.

Allegations, Seizures and Charges

Investigators allege an Israeli citizen, working with several Palestinians, smuggled millions of shekels worth of dual-use components into the territory. Prosecutors also contend that the suspects failed to fully declare income from these activities to tax authorities. During the raids, authorities seized approximately 175 kg of materials believed to be usable in the production of explosive devices.

Eight suspects were detained during the initial phase of the operation; a subsequent overt phase produced six additional arrests, bringing the total to 14. The investigation is ongoing and officials say further arrests are possible as inquiries continue.

Note: These are allegations under investigation. The suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
