Vehicle and Company Statement
Photos published by local outlets show a large trailer leaning against the highway divider and a white van struck into its side. A Target spokesperson told reporters the trailer was being hauled by a third-party carrier and that the driver was not a Target employee.
“We are deeply saddened by a fatal crash involving a Target trailer near Irwindale, California,” the company said. “Our thoughts and condolences are with all those impacted by this tragic incident. We’re working closely with local law enforcement.”
