The Run
Denis, from Hinckley in Leicestershire, completed the gruelling route despite an early knee injury, harsh weather and painful blisters. He began the challenge on 20 May and finished after 23 days of continuous effort, describing the experience as "madness" but deeply meaningful.

A Personal Mission
He began running after the death of his mother, Pauline, in 2020, following a decade‑long battle with neuroendocrine cancer. After his father, Phil, died suddenly from a heart attack in 2023, Denis said his grief became overwhelming and running became a vital way to cope.

Community, Challenges and Charity

While on the route, Denis reached out online — noting he listened to Harry Styles and that the singer is known to be a keen runner. Denis said he was moved to tears and left speechless by the generosity. He publicly thanked everyone who followed and encouraged him throughout the journey.
