Authorities have identified the 5-month-old infant who died after being found in a hot tub inside a hotel room earlier this week as A'zara Beckett of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, the Lancaster County Coroner's Office confirmed.
State troopers and emergency medical personnel responded to the Best Western Plus Intercourse Village Inn & Suites in Lancaster County on Monday, May 11, just after 6:00 p.m., following a report of a possible drowning. Responders found the child unresponsive in the hotel room's hot tub; she was reported to be in cardiac arrest after being pulled from the water.
First responders immediately attempted resuscitation, but the infant was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy later determined the cause of death to be freshwater drowning, and the Lancaster County Coroner's Office said the manner of death is being considered an accident. Coroner Stephen Diamantoni confirmed the child had been in the hot tub inside the room.

Authorities said the child's mother cooperated with investigators. The Pennsylvania State Police, the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office and the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services' Office of Children, Youth and Families are all involved in the ongoing review of the circumstances.
Best Western issued a statement saying the company is cooperating with local government officials as the investigation continues. Local outlets reporting the case included WHTM, PennLive and LancasterOnline.
