A cast member at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios was injured after stepping in front of a runaway prop boulder during the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular on December 30. Video shared on X, TikTok and Reddit shows the boulder veering off course and knocking the worker to the ground; witnesses reported minor head bleeding and said the cast member later returned to the stage and received applause. The Daily Beast contacted Walt Disney World for comment. The stunt show, which opened in 1989, has had previous safety incidents, including a 1990 OSHA fine and a 2009 rehearsal fatality.

What Happened

Footage circulating on X, TikTok and Reddit shows a large, springy prop boulder veer off its intended path and roll toward the audience during the live stunt show. According to witnesses, a cast member moved to intercept the rolling prop and was knocked to the ground, briefly bleeding from a head wound.

Other employees quickly joined to stop the boulder and assist their colleague. One Reddit user who said they attended the December 30 performance wrote that the worker had "blood coming from his head" but that staff promptly applied towels. The same witness said the cast member later returned at the end of the show wearing a hat and received applause from the audience.

“He did have blood coming from his head after the fall. It was not a lot, but they quickly put towels on it. He came back at the end of the show and was wearing a hat. He got a large round of applause,” a Reddit user wrote.

Responses And Reporting

The Daily Beast says it reached out to Walt Disney World for comment. Media outlets including the New York Post have noted similar past incidents; footage of this event has since gone viral and prompted renewed attention to safety in the long-running show.
