DeKalb County police charged 41-year-old Roland Suckoo with two counts of malice murder after 33-year-old Connie Jackson and her 11-year-old daughter, Arielle Davis, were killed in a shooting on Dec. 12. Authorities initially considered the scene a possible murder‑suicide but later reclassified it as a double murder following further investigation. Jackson had called her mother minutes earlier to say she had packed to leave her boyfriend. Jackson leaves behind a six‑month‑old child, and a GoFundMe describes the victims as beloved family members.

DeKalb County authorities have charged 41-year-old Roland Suckoo with two counts of malice murder after the deaths of his girlfriend, 33-year-old Connie Jackson, and her 11-year-old daughter, Arielle Davis.

The shooting occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 12 in DeKalb County, Georgia. Investigators initially treated the scene as a possible murder-suicide, but after an ongoing investigation they reclassified the case as a double murder, DeKalb County police said.

Family account: Jackson’s mother, Artelar Jackson, told local media that Connie called her minutes before the incident to say she had packed her belongings and planned to leave her boyfriend. Artelar is now caring for a six-month-old granddaughter Jackson left behind.

“The first thing she said to me when she answered the phone was, ‘Ma, I packed all my stuff, ma. I’m ready to go, ma. I’m tired, ma. I’m done,’” Artelar Jackson recalled.

A GoFundMe page set up after the killings described Connie Jackson as “a loving mother, daughter, and friend,” and said Arielle was “a bright, joyful child.” The fundraiser called the deaths senseless and urged support for the grieving family.

Investigation and next steps: Authorities have formally charged Suckoo with malice murder as detectives continue to gather evidence and prosecutors prepare the case for trial. DeKalb County police say the reclassification followed careful review of the scene and evidence.
