Fitness Influencer Brian Divine Arrested in Indianapolis After 16-Year-Old Accuses Him of Sexual Encounters

Brian Divine, a 44-year-old fitness influencer known as "Kaizen DIY Gym," was arrested Nov. 26 in Indianapolis after a 16-year-old alleged three sexual encounters with him, some while intoxicated. Court records show Divine was charged Dec. 1 with six counts of child seduction and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The affidavit states Divine admitted to having sex with the teen while she was under the influence. He is jailed without bond and is due back in court on Dec. 12.

Brian Divine, a 44-year-old fitness content creator known online as "Kaizen DIY Gym," was arrested on Nov. 26 in Indianapolis after a 16-year-old accused him of sexual activity. Court records show Divine was charged on Dec. 1 with six counts of child seduction and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

An affidavit for probable cause states the teenager told detectives she had three separate sexual encounters with Divine, and that some of those encounters occurred while she was under the influence of alcohol she says Divine provided. According to the affidavit, Divine acknowledged to detectives that they had sex while she was intoxicated.

"He admitted they had sexual relations while she was under the influence of alcohol," the affidavit states.

The teen’s mother reportedly viewed screenshots of a messaging exchange between her daughter and the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) in which they discussed whether the encounters amounted to rape given the state's age-of-consent law. When confronted, the girl allegedly confirmed the three encounters, according to the affidavit.

On the day of his arrest, an Instagram post attributed to Divine’s account displayed an overlaid message alongside apparent screenshots of messages to RAINN. The overlaid text read, "MY NAMES KYLE AND I HAVE BEEN RAPING MY 16 YR OLD STEP DAUGHTER," and the post's caption stated, "This is Kyle’s wife. Not a joke. He’s going to jail." The circumstances and authorship of that post are part of the records reviewed by investigators.

Divine did not respond to requests for comment. Online inmate records indicate he is being held in the Marion County Jail without bond; his next court date is scheduled for Dec. 12.
