American Cruise Passenger Ann Evans Found in Saint Martin After Eight Days Missing

An American tourist, 55-year-old Ann Evans, who went missing after disembarking a cruise ship in Marigot, Saint Martin, has been found, the Police Force of Sint Maarten said. Evans was reported missing on Nov. 20 after failing to return to the ship during a shore excursion and was located eight days later. Authorities thanked the community for its assistance and said, "contact has been made with the individual in question." Reports during the search noted someone matching her description had been using her passport.

An American tourist, Ann Evans, 55, who disappeared after disembarking from the cruise ship Rotterdam in Marigot on the French side of Saint Martin, has been located, the Police Force of Sint Maarten said Friday.

Evans left the ship during a shore excursion and failed to return to the bus or to the vessel. She was reported missing on Nov. 20 and remained unaccounted for for eight days while local authorities and community members helped search for her.

"Contact has been made with the individual in question," the police said, thanking residents and visitors who provided tips and assistance during the search.

During the period she was missing, authorities received reports that someone matching Evans's description had been seen using a passport belonging to her. Police have not released additional details about Evans's condition or whether any criminal activity is suspected.
