Florida PE Teacher Arrested After Allegedly Sending Obscene Images to 13-Year-Old

A 22-year-old physical education teacher in Florida has been arrested and charged after authorities say she sent obscene images and other harmful material to a 13-year-old student.

Authorities with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office took Yezmar Angeanis Ramos-Figueroa into custody on Nov. 26. She was booked on two felony counts: distributing obscene material to a minor and transmitting harmful material to a minor.

Detectives allege the conduct occurred while Ramos-Figueroa was employed at the Kissimmee campus of Central Pointe Christian Academy, a private school located about 20 miles south of Orlando. The victim is a 13-year-old male student at the school.

According to the investigation, the victim’s mother reported “inappropriate contact” in mid-October. Detectives interviewed the boy and later recovered text messages and photographs that they say were sent from Ramos-Figueroa’s phone to the student.

When detectives interviewed Ramos-Figueroa on Nov. 26, the sheriff’s office says she admitted to texting and sending a picture to the student. She was then transported to and booked into the Osceola County Jail. Ramos-Figueroa has not yet appeared before a judge and a bail amount has not been set.

Authorities have not released additional details about the content of the images or whether any other students were involved. It is also unclear whether Ramos-Figueroa has retained legal counsel. The investigation remains active.

Note: An arrest and charges are allegations; the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
