Authorities are investigating the death of 18-year-old Anna Kepner of Titusville, Florida, whose body was found under the bed in her stateroom aboard the Carnival Horizon on Nov. 8 as the ship returned to PortMiami. Federal and local authorities, including the FBI's Miami Division and Miami-Dade Police, are involved in the inquiry.
According to law enforcement sources, a housekeeper located Kepner in her cabin while the ship was en route from the Caribbean back to Miami. Family members said Kepner had told them the night before that she was not feeling well and had returned to her room.
Investigation under way
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage, electronic key-card records and interviewing passengers and crew who were on board during the voyage. Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed it is cooperating with authorities and said further details are being handled by law enforcement. The FBI is leading aspects of the investigation.

"She was a people person. She loved being around people. She had that type of energy that just drew you in with her smile," family members said.
