New timetable from 14 December — 29 extra high‑speed services and three Class 377 trains; check before you travel

Timetable change from 14 December

South Eastern Railway (SER) will introduce a revised timetable on 14 December. Passengers travelling between London and the Kent and East Sussex coast are advised to check journeys in advance, as some departure and arrival times will change.

The update adds 29 extra high‑speed workings on the St Pancras International to Faversham route to boost capacity on that corridor. SER is also bringing three additional train units into service — Class 377 electric multiple units — increasing the operator's fleet of Class 377s to 36. Several services will receive extra carriages to provide more space during busy periods.

Routes and benefits

Key improvements include:

• Additional commuter services between Hastings and London terminals including Charing Cross and Cannon Street.
• More services from Dartford and Gravesend to Victoria.
• Extra peak‑time trains from Maidstone East and from Ashford into London to ease congestion for commuters.

Passengers should check the amended services now: journey planners and timetables on the operator's website and travel apps have been updated. Allow extra time for your journey on and around 14 December while you familiarise yourself with any changes.
