Woman injured in stabbing at Thai Orchard restaurant in Salisbury
A woman in her 50s has been taken to Salisbury District Hospital in a serious but stable condition after being stabbed with a shard of glass, Wiltshire Police said.
Officers were called to the Thai Orchard on Fisherton Street at about 22:00 GMT on Thursday following reports of an altercation inside the restaurant. The injured woman sustained serious wounds and was transported to hospital for treatment.
A woman in her 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Eirin Martin, of Wiltshire Police, said: "This was a serious incident in which a woman was injured inside the restaurant following an argument. Officers responded quickly, making an arrest at the scene and securing the area to allow enquiries to take place."
The police cordon remains in place at the restaurant's entrance and exit while investigators work, but Fisherton Street itself is open as usual. Wiltshire Police said enquiries are ongoing and asked anyone with information or CCTV to contact them.
