An Israeli drone strike killed 42-year-old Tamer al-Hamayda and wounded several others after hitting a tent shelter in al-Mawasi, southern Gaza. Medical staff reported an additional death from an earlier Jabalia strike, while Israeli forces also carried out demolitions near al-Tuffah in Gaza City. In the occupied West Bank, settlers shot dead 51-year-old Mashhour Yassin during a raid on Yasuf; Palestinian officials accused Israeli forces of detaining an ambulance during the attack. The Gaza Health Ministry and the UN provided updated casualty figures that reflect mounting civilian tolls since October 2023.
Drone Strike Kills Displaced Palestinian In Gaza; Settlers Shoot Dead Man Near Ramallah

An Israeli drone strike has killed a displaced Palestinian man and wounded several others in southern Gaza, while Israeli settlers shot dead a Palestinian near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, local medical sources and officials said.
Gaza: Strike Hits Tent Shelter
The body of 42-year-old Tamer al-Hamayda and three wounded people were taken to Nasser Medical Complex after the drone strike hit a tent sheltering displaced families in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis on Gaza's southern coast.
Medical staff at Nasser Medical Complex also reported that another man died from wounds sustained in an earlier drone strike on Tuesday that struck a gathering in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Witnesses said Israeli forces also carried out a large-scale demolition operation targeting buildings east of Gaza City's al-Tuffah neighbourhood.
West Bank: Settler Shooting Near Ramallah
In the occupied West Bank, settlers shot dead 51-year-old Mashhour Yassin and wounded another man during a raid on the village of Yasuf, north of Ramallah, officials said. Yasuf's mayor, Jumaa Abdel Fattah, told AFP that dozens of settlers armed with sticks and firearms attacked homes in the village and that Yassin was shot after going outside to defend his house; Yassin's nephew was also wounded.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Israeli forces detained an ambulance during the incident, seizing its key and discarding it — an action the ministry said demonstrated "clear coordination between the settlers and occupation forces." It condemned the killing as part of a wider escalation in organised settler violence.
Casualty Figures And Context
The Gaza Health Ministry reported eight new deaths and 26 wounded over the past 24 hours, putting the toll since the ceasefire that took effect in October 2025 at 1,439 killed and 5,052 wounded, with 834 bodies recovered from the rubble. Since October 2023, the ministry says Israel's military action in Gaza has killed at least 74,040 Palestinians and wounded 175,168.
According to the UN, at least 1,112 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers since October 2023, including at least 37 killed by settlers. More than 500,000 Israelis now live in West Bank settlements that are considered illegal under international law.
The incidents in Gaza and the West Bank come amid rising tensions and frequent cross-border incidents. Palestinian officials and human rights groups have called for independent investigations and greater protection for civilians; Israeli authorities have said they are responding to security threats. Both events underscore the ongoing humanitarian and security crisis affecting civilians across the occupied territories.
