Bell ringing ropes grant 'a sound investment'

Prince Harry told CTV it feels 'great' to be back in Britain after six years in California, saying his children are settled at school and he can focus on the Invictus Games in Birmingham next July. The Sussexes returned to the UK last month and are believed to be based in a private Cotswolds property. Security concerns prompted quick school changes for Archie and Lilibet, and RAVEC will review whether the family receives taxpayer-funded protection.

The Duke of Sussex told Canadian broadcaster CTV it feels 'great' to be back on British soil after six years living in California. "It's been great. It's been great to be back on British soil. The kids are happy in school and it gives me a chance to be able to really focus on the Invictus Games in Birmingham in July next year," he said.

Return To Britain And Family Life

Harry and Meghan stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States. The couple returned to live in Britain last month and are reported to be based at a private property in the Cotswolds, outside London. Meghan has kept a low public profile since the move, while Harry has taken part in a number of public engagements.

Security And School Move

Their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, were moved to a different school only days after they started because of security concerns around the school run. Sources say the Sussexes' private security team warned about the distance and heavy traffic on the route to the original school.

Invictus Games And Public Engagements

Harry has been focusing on the Invictus Games, which take place in Birmingham from 10 to 17 July next year. Organisers expect about 550 wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans from 25 nations to compete across 12 adaptive sports. Last week he visited a Birmingham school to launch an education programme inspired by the Games, where he played pickleball with pupils and joined a science class on prosthetic design.

He also spoke to CTV after completing a skydive in Toronto to honour a promise to a 102-year-old Second World War veteran and to raise awareness for military charities.

Relations With The Royal Family And Security Review

The couple were reportedly surprised by a letter authorised by the King reiterating that they are private citizens and outlining guidance to senior government and military figures on how they should be treated. Harry's relationship with King Charles has remained strained since the Sussexes stepped down from working royal roles and moved to the US.

The committee that oversees royal and VIP protection, known as RAVEC, is set to reassess whether the Sussexes will receive taxpayer-funded security now that they are full-time UK residents rather than visitors. The family is currently awaiting that decision.
