Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) suggested Wednesday that Democrats could be headed for a decisive wave after sharing a new Economist/YouGov poll that shows the party with an 11-point advantage over Republicans among likely voters in the 2026 House elections.

"An 11 point advantage for Democrats on the generic congressional ballot among likely voters points to a blue tsunami," Lieu wrote. "Even if that advantage was cut in half, we still flip the House. (Although with gas prices rising I don't see how the GOP gains ground). November is coming."

Morris noted the Economist/YouGov measure used named candidates rather than the usual generic congressional ballot question.
