Video from Idna, Hebron Hills, appears to show an IDF soldier striking and kneeling on a Palestinian; the army says it is investigating. Ynet and Army Radio report the unrest followed alleged attacks on worshippers and a smashed car window, while the IDF says troops were responding to reports of rock-throwing at an Israeli shepherd. Earlier clashes near Susya reportedly wounded four Palestinians, a claim Wafa made that Israeli sources did not independently verify. The episode comes amid a recent IDF reinforcement across the West Bank to 26 battalions after a surge in violence.
IDF Probing Video That Appears To Show Soldier Striking And Kneeling On Palestinian In Idna

Video that emerged after a violent confrontation in the West Bank appears to show an Israeli soldier striking a Palestinian and pressing a knee into his midsection in the village of Idna, in the Hebron Hills. Army Radio reported the footage on Saturday, and an IDF spokesperson said the incident is under investigation.
According to Ynet, which cited Palestinian sources, unrest began after Israeli residents allegedly attacked Palestinians, smashed a car window and surrounded worshippers at a mosque in Idna. The IDF told Israeli media that soldiers were dispatched after local Israelis reported Palestinians throwing rocks at an Israeli shepherd who had left his farm with his flock.
The circulated footage shows the soldier pinning the Palestinian to the ground with his knee while two civilians are also seen in the video attacking the same man. The IDF has confirmed it is looking into the incident; the circumstances and sequence of events are being examined.
Earlier on Saturday, Ynet reported that four Palestinians were wounded near Susya. The Palestinian news agency Wafa alleged that settlers beat Palestinians and fired shots into the air; Israeli sources did not independently verify that account. Ynet said the IDF opened an inquiry into the Susya incident as well.
These events come amid a recent reinforcement of IDF forces across the West Bank. The Jerusalem Post reported that the army increased its deployment to 26 battalions — adding two battalions — after a sharp escalation that included Palestinian militant attacks and violence involving settlers. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered expanded troop deployments, additional checkpoints and intensified counterterrorism operations following a deadly shooting near Gilad Farm. Security forces subsequently arrested more than 70 suspects across the West Bank.
