Tributes have been paid to Mason Haynes, a 52‑year‑old bodyguard who had protected high‑profile clients including Kim Kardashian and Sir David Beckham, after he died in a collision near Hook on 4 July. A second motorcyclist remains hospitalised with serious injuries. Two drivers were arrested at the scene and have been released under investigation. A GoFundMe has raised more than £11,000 toward an £18,000 target as family and friends remember Haynes.

Tributes have poured in for Mason Haynes, a 52‑year‑old security professional who had worked with high‑profile clients including Kim Kardashian and Sir David Beckham, after he was killed in a collision near Hook on 4 July.

Hampshire Police said officers were called to the scene of a crash involving two Harley‑Davidson motorcycles, a BMW X3 and an LDV Maxus motorhome van. One motorcyclist, identified as Mason Haynes of Thames Ditton, Surrey, was pronounced dead at the scene. Haynes was two days shy of his 53rd birthday.

A second motorcyclist, a man in his 30s from Farnham, Hampshire, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital receiving treatment.

Family and Friends Pay Tribute

Haynes' wife, Fay Cameron‑Clarke, described him as “the most loyal and loving man” who “gave so much of himself to everyone around him.” She said:

“Whether he was protecting people through his work or travelling hundreds of miles to help a friend, that was simply who he was. He embraced every opportunity life offered, made friends wherever he went, lifted those around him and left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.”

A family statement issued via Hampshire Police added:

“We are completely devastated by the loss of our beloved Mason, a devoted husband, father, son, brother and dear friend. He leaves his wife Fay, his daughter Brooke and his son Noah, who were the centre of his world. Mason was larger than life in every sense — funny, adventurous, loyal and hugely generous with his time.”

Investigation and Fundraising

Police confirmed that the driver of the BMW X3, a 52‑year‑old man from Basingstoke, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving and of driving while unfit through drugs. The driver of the LDV Maxus, a 58‑year‑old man, also from Basingstoke, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and causing death by dangerous driving. Both men have since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

A GoFundMe page has been launched to support Haynes’ family and to fund a funeral, raising more than £11,000 so far toward an £18,000 target.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary are continuing their investigation into the four‑vehicle collision and have appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
