Israeli forces struck the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, killing one municipal worker and injuring two others, Palestinian media reported. Gaza's Health Ministry says 983 people have been killed and 3,122 injured in Israeli attacks since an October ceasefire. Hamas accuses Israel of violating the deal, and Israeli raids and settler violence were also reported across the occupied West Bank.

Israeli forces carried out a drone strike inside the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza on Saturday, Palestinian media reported, killing one municipal worker and wounding two others as casualties continue to rise despite a ceasefire declared in October.

Wafa reported that the strike killed Muawiya al-Aydi, identified by the Palestinian Information Center as a local municipality employee. A separate incident in the Tuffah neighbourhood of Gaza City wounded another person, Wafa said.

Casualty Figures and Claims

Gaza's Health Ministry said at least two Palestinians were killed and 11 injured in Israeli attacks across the enclave over the past 48 hours, and gave an overall toll of 983 killed and 3,122 injured since the October ceasefire. These figures come from Gaza health authorities and have not been independently verified.

Allegations of Ceasefire Violations

Hamas has accused Israel of repeatedly breaching the agreement, citing continued strikes and what it describes as a shift of the so-called "Yellow Line" that marks areas under Israeli control inside Gaza. Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said on Friday that "Israeli actions reflect its unwillingness to implement the ceasefire agreement and aim to blow up the negotiation track... while continuing escalation to serve political and electoral considerations."

West Bank Raids and Settler Violence

Separately, Wafa reported that Israeli troops conducted a series of raids in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, part of near-daily operations since October 7, 2023. Incidents near Bethlehem reportedly involved stun grenades and tear gas during raids on the Dheisheh refugee camp and at the Solomon's Pools reservoirs.

Wafa also reported a shooting in Duma near Hebron in which a disabled Palestinian man was injured; Wafa attributed the shooting to Israeli forces, while Israeli media quoted police saying an Israeli settler fired because he felt threatened. The agency reported additional settler attacks near Bethlehem, including assaults on electrical workers, theft of water pipes, road blockades between Arraba and Ya'bad, and arson affecting farmland and vehicles in Jit.

Note: Reporting on the ground is contested and accounts differ by source. Attributions in this article follow the reporting agencies cited (Wafa, Gaza Health Ministry, Palestinian Information Center, Israeli police and media).

The continuing incidents underline the fragile situation in Gaza and the occupied West Bank and highlight calls from humanitarian groups for stronger measures to prevent civilian harm and to preserve the ceasefire and negotiation efforts.
