A father and his daughter were killed in an Israeli drone strike in central Khan Younis, and a separate attack later that day killed another person and wounded a child, Al Jazeera reported. Despite an October 11 ceasefire, Israeli forces continue daily air, artillery and naval attacks across Gaza, while the Rafah crossing remains closed and humanitarian routes are tightly restricted. Human Rights Watch has warned that restrictions have worsened shortages of medicines, food and reconstruction materials. Official tallies place tens of thousands of Palestinians killed or injured since October 2023, and violence has also surged across the West Bank.
Drone Strike Kills Father and Daughter in Khan Younis as Gaza Attacks Continue

A father and his young daughter were killed early Saturday in an Israeli drone strike in central Khan Younis in southern Gaza, Al Jazeera correspondents reported. Later the same day, another person was killed and a young girl was wounded in a separate attack in Khan Younis.
Recent Hostilities
Israeli forces have continued daily air strikes, artillery shelling and naval bombardment across Gaza despite an October 11 ceasefire, according to local sources and reporters. Militias aligned with the Israeli army have reportedly advanced east of Gaza City amid heavy gunfire, and initial accounts say a member of the Palestinian police was abducted.
Israeli warplanes struck multiple locations east of the Tuffah neighbourhood near Gaza City, while the Israeli navy fired heavy machine guns and shells toward the Gaza City coastline, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. Over the past 48 hours the Palestinian Ministry of Health said two additional people were wounded.
Humanitarian Situation
The Rafah border crossing on Gaza's southern border remains closed after Israel shut it amid broader strikes on Iran; it had only reopened last month to allow a limited number of Palestinians — including patients in urgent need — to leave. The Karem Abu Salem crossing (Kerem Shalom) is partially open only for restricted humanitarian aid.
Nearly the entire population of Gaza — more than two million people — was displaced during the campaign in the territory and remains heavily dependent on humanitarian assistance. A February report from Human Rights Watch said Israeli restrictions have contributed to shortages of medicines, reconstruction materials, food and water inside the Gaza Strip.
Casualties and Wider Toll
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, since the ceasefire 640 Palestinians have been killed and at least 1,700 wounded. The ministry and other local sources report that at least 72,123 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023, with 171,805 injured. These figures reflect the high human cost of the conflict across Gaza.
Violence in the West Bank
Violence has also intensified in the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its teams in Hebron treated a Palestinian injured by live fire near the Karmei Tzur settlement north of the city. Wafa reported three Palestinians were injured after being physically assaulted by Israeli settlers in the Ras al-Ahmar area south of Tubas. Israeli forces also conducted raids in Qaffin and Kafr al-Labad north of Tulkarem, and a Palestinian man was reported injured after an assault by Israeli soldiers near Azmut, east of Nablus.
According to the latest United Nations figures, at least 1,094 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops and settlers in the West Bank since October 2023.
Note: Casualty and incident figures are reported by local health authorities, Palestinian news agencies, Human Rights Watch and the United Nations. Independent verification in an active conflict zone can be challenging; numbers may be revised as new information becomes available.
