Prince Andrew, 65, has left Royal Lodge and is temporarily staying at Sandringham, the BBC reports. His move comes after a U.S. Justice Department release of documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein that reportedly include photos and emails involving the then-prince. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Andrew should be asked to testify before the U.S. Congress; Andrew denies wrongdoing and settled a 2022 civil claim without admitting liability.
Prince Andrew Relocates to Sandringham After DOJ Epstein Files Renew Scrutiny

Britain's former prince, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, 65, has moved out of Royal Lodge near Windsor Castle and is staying temporarily at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, the BBC reported on Tuesday. Buckingham Palace declined to confirm the move to AFP.
New Documents and Renewed Scrutiny
The relocation follows the release by the U.S. Justice Department of a tranche of documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein that include photographs and emails referencing the then-prince. The files reportedly contain images described as showing the then-prince kneeling over a woman and messages that invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace for a "private" conversation. Those disclosures have prompted calls for further answers about Andrew's relationship with Epstein.
Political and Legal Reactions
Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the material merited Andrew being asked to testify before the U.S. Congress. Separately, a second woman who says she was abused by Epstein has alleged, through her lawyer, that Epstein sent her to Britain in 2010 to have sex with Andrew at Royal Lodge. Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
Background
Andrew stepped back from public royal duties in 2019 amid controversy over his ties to Epstein, who died by suicide in prison that year while awaiting trial on sex-crime charges. In 2022 Andrew paid a multimillion-pound settlement to Virginia Giuffre, an Epstein accuser, without admitting liability; Giuffre died by suicide last year.
The BBC said Andrew had lived at Royal Lodge with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, for around two decades. The Sun tabloid reported he is expected to move into a permanent residence on the Sandringham estate, Marsh Farm, once renovations are finished.
