LEGOLAND Florida Resort in Winter Haven will open its new indoor, space‑themed roller coaster, Galacticoaster, on Feb. 27. The park unveiled the launch date during the lighting of its 30‑foot LEGO Christmas tree.

Opening Night Spectacle

The reveal featured a choreographed aerial drone show in which hundreds of synchronized drones formed glowing shapes — rockets, LEGO bricks and the resort’s new character, Space Creature. Emily Calandrelli, described in the park’s news release as an acclaimed science communicator, TV host and aerospace engineer, led the countdown.

What the Ride Offers

Galacticoaster invites guests to design their own spacecraft before boarding. Using interactive touchscreens and RFID wristbands, riders can create from up to 625 possible design combinations; each wristband links the chosen design to the ride experience. As guests board, their personalized craft is integrated into a dynamic interstellar journey that combines synchronized lighting, projection sequences, an immersive LEGO solar system and character‑driven story moments.

Family-Friendly Additions

The new space area also includes a Duplo‑themed space play zone designed for younger children and a dedicated LEGO Galaxy retail shop offering themed merchandise and souvenirs.

Galacticoaster aims to blend creative personalization with immersive theme‑park technology, offering a mix of family accessibility and interactive storytelling when it opens later this month.
