Six-year-old Emma Riddle was critically injured in a go-kart crash at Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park in Port St. Lucie on Dec. 6 and died the following day. A 911 caller said Emma had "hit her sternum really hard," was "kind of incoherent," and may have been vomiting blood. New information has emerged about a 6-year-old girl who died after a go-kart collision at Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

What Happened

Authorities were called to Urban Air just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, after reports that a child had been injured in a go-kart accident. The girl, later identified by her family as Emma Riddle, was airlifted to a hospital and died of her injuries the following day.

911 Call and Injuries

Audio from a 911 call released by the Port St. Lucie Police and obtained by PEOPLE describes a chaotic scene. An unidentified caller said the child had "hit her sternum really hard" and was "kind of incoherent." The caller also reported that the girl may have been vomiting blood or that blood was coming from her nose and down her throat.

“Someone hit them from behind. A little girl, I don't know if she's throwing up blood or if it's coming from her nose, down her throat, but she's trying to throw up,” the caller told dispatchers.

Family, Response and Investigation

The family says they were at the park to celebrate Emma's sister's birthday. A GoFundMe set up to assist the family describes Emma as "full of life, love, and light," and notes a celebration of life was scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13 in Port St. Lucie.

Urban Air issued a statement to CBS News saying the company is "heartbroken by the tragic accident," expressed condolences, and confirmed it is cooperating with state and local authorities as their investigation continues. The company also noted that its policies, procedures and equipment are intended to keep guests safe and that its staff responded immediately while emergency personnel arrived on site.

Ongoing Inquiry

Authorities have said the death is under investigation. Both the park and the family did not immediately respond to additional requests for comment to PEOPLE.
