A 15-year-old pupil from Beath High School in Fife has died after becoming unwell on a school bus while travelling to Fife College. The incident occurred on Monday, Nov. 24, near the A92 Halbeath roundabout in Dunfermline.

Police Scotland said they received a call at around 1:45pm reporting that a 15-year-old male had become unwell on the vehicle. Emergency services attended and the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have described the death as unexplained and said inquiries are ongoing.

In a letter to parents, Stephen Ross, headteacher at Beath High School, confirmed the senior pupil’s death and said the student’s name has not been released. He wrote that the situation "deteriorated rapidly" and, despite the attendance of an ambulance, the young person tragically passed away.

Ross added: “We are all devastated by this news, and our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones at this sensitive and difficult time.” He said the school is arranging support for pupils and staff, providing space and time for anyone who needs help.

Beath High School is based in Cowdenbeath. Police Scotland have said investigations remain active as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.
