Engine Smoke Forces Evacuation of Linlithgow School Bus — All Pupils Safe

A double-decker school bus carrying Linlithgow Academy pupils was evacuated after smoke was seen coming from the engine on Blackness Road at about 12:50 on Friday. All students disembarked safely and no injuries were reported. Two Scottish Fire and Rescue Service engines attended and extinguished the blaze, and pupils were collected by another vehicle.

A double-decker school bus carrying pupils from Linlithgow Academy was evacuated after smoke was seen coming from the vehicle's engine on Blackness Road in the Springfield area at around 12:50 on Friday.

Students disembarked quickly and safely; West Lothian Council confirmed there were no injuries and that pupils were collected by an alternative vehicle. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) dispatched two fire engines to the scene and extinguished the flames.

Council spokesperson: "We have been advised that there were no injuries, thankfully, and all pupils disembarked very quickly. All pupils were picked up in another vehicle."

Emergency services responded promptly and the situation was brought under control without injury. Further updates will be provided if more information becomes available.
