FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer Alexis Wilkins announced their engagement on X, with Wilkins posting a photo of her new ring. The couple have dated since before Patel became FBI director in 2025, and Wilkins released her debut album in 2023. Patel has faced scrutiny for using government aircraft on trips critics say had no clear law-enforcement purpose, including a reported FBI jet flight to a pro-wrestling event where Wilkins performed. Wilkins also appeared at President Trump's Great American State Fair, an appearance that prompted several artists to withdraw.

FBI Director Kash Patel and country artist Alexis Wilkins announced their engagement in a post on X on Sunday evening. Wilkins, 27, shared a black-and-white photo of the couple and held up her hand to display an engagement ring, captioning the image:
Went and got the law involved.
The couple have been together since before Patel became FBI director in 2025; Wilkins attended his swearing-in ceremony. Patel, 46, reposted Wilkins's photo to his account.
Wilkins is a country singer and political commentator who released her debut album in 2023. She has worked with conservative groups and says on her website that she 'honors country tradition while adding relevance and current commentary.'
Patel has faced criticism from some observers for traveling on government aircraft for trips that critics say lacked an apparent law-enforcement purpose. One frequently cited example was an FBI jet trip to State College, Pennsylvania, for a professional wrestling event where Wilkins performed the national anthem; social media images from that event showed the couple together and Wilkins holding an oversized gold championship belt.
Wilkins also performed at President Donald Trump's Great American State Fair on the National Mall as part of the America 250 celebrations. Several artists subsequently withdrew from the event after learning it was not a non-partisan celebration.
