A Dallas-area community college drama instructor was arrested after allegedly sending sexually explicit photos and messages on Snapchat to an account he believed belonged to a 14-year-old, law enforcement said.
Who Was Arrested
Aaron Wood, 34, who taught drama for two years at North Central Texas College (NCTC), was taken into custody by the Denton County Sheriff’s Office and charged with solicitation of a minor via computer, according to county records and an arrest affidavit.
Aaron Wood, a college drama professor, was arrested in North Texas on accusations of sending sexually explicit photos and messages to an individual he believed was a 14-year-old boy.
Allegations and Investigation
Authorities say the alleged interaction occurred on May 22, when Wood reportedly exchanged messages and images with an undercover agent in Florida who was posing as a 14-year-old on Snapchat. The affidavit alleges Wood sent a photo of male genitalia, exchanged sexually explicit messages and asked the undercover account for images in return.
Investigators reportedly traced the Snapchat conversation to an IP address that led them to an apartment in Denton, where Wood was located and arrested. The affidavit also noted probable cause for additional charges, including transmission of harmful material to minors and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Aaron Wood allegedly engaged in inappropriate Snapchat conversations with an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old earlier this year.
School Statement
NCTC confirmed Wood was no longer employed by the college and said, to its knowledge, the alleged conduct did not involve NCTC students or staff. The college emphasized that the safety of students and staff remains a top priority.
Note: These are allegations. No conviction has been reported, and the accused is entitled to due process.
Fox News Digital and local outlets cited the arrest affidavit. Authorities and the college did not provide additional details about any ongoing investigation.
