Louisiana State University has placed Delta Kappa Epsilon and Phi Gamma Delta on interim suspension amid an active investigation into hazing allegations. A Sept. 3 complaint alleged DKE pledges were made to do wall sits and were "actively waterboarded," while FIJI pledges were reportedly forced to chug a gallon of chocolate milk, causing many to vomit. DKE says it is cooperating with authorities; the university and law enforcement continue to investigate.

Louisiana State University (LSU) has placed two fraternities on interim suspension while investigators review allegations of hazing, the university confirmed to Fox News Digital.

Allegations

The suspensions affect Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE) and Phi Gamma Delta (commonly known as "FIJI"). The probe follows an urgent complaint filed on Sept. 3 that was reported by WAFB. According to that complaint, a student told a roommate that DKE pledges were required to do wall sits and were "actively waterboarded" during the activity; the complainant asked to remain anonymous.

Separately, FIJI pledges were accused of being forced to chug a gallon of chocolate milk — an action that reportedly caused many to vomit — and of being ordered to bring a squirrel to a chapter meeting.

Responses And Next Steps

Delta Kappa Epsilon International issued a statement saying it is aware of the allegations involving the Zeta Zeta Chapter at LSU, is taking the matter seriously, is cooperating with the appropriate authorities and will act based on the facts established through the review. Fox News Digital reported that inquiries were also made to the LSU Police Department and to Phi Gamma Delta for comment.

"Delta Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity is aware of the allegations... We will take appropriate action based on the facts established through those processes."

Interim suspensions remove the organizations from campus activities while university officials and, where applicable, law enforcement review the reported conduct and determine next steps. LSU's investigation is ongoing, and no disciplinary conclusions have been announced.
