A woman identified as Jane Doe 4 has joined a lawsuit claiming Elon Musk's xAI allowed its chatbot Grok to be used to create child sexual abuse material. She alleges her stepfather used a photo of her at age 11 to generate more than 7,000 explicit images and was found dead by suicide two days after law enforcement uncovered the files. The plaintiffs accuse xAI of failing to put basic safeguards in place and are seeking class-action status.
Woman Alleges Stepfather Used Grok To Turn Her Childhood Photo Into 7,000+ Explicit Images, Joins Lawsuit Against xAI

A woman identified in court filings as Jane Doe 4 has joined a lawsuit filed by three Tennessee teenagers that alleges Elon Musk's company xAI — and its chatbot Grok — played a role in creating child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
According to reporting in The Washington Post, the woman says her stepfather used Grok to manipulate a photograph of her taken when she was 11 years old and produced more than 7,000 explicit images. She told reporters the images were discovered during a law enforcement raid, and that her stepfather was found dead by suicide two days later.
"Limitless access to these tools is spreading so quickly. It is taking everyday life and turning it into child sexual abuse," the woman said, according to the report.
Allegations and Legal Claims
The plaintiffs—three teenagers who originally filed the suit—accuse xAI (which plaintiffs say is now part of SpaceX) of failing to implement basic safeguards to prevent Grok from producing sexualized images of real people, including minors. The court filing notes that X was reportedly flooded earlier this year with millions of Grok-generated sexualized images. The plaintiffs are seeking class-action status for the lawsuit.
