A Georgia woman was driving 54 mph in a 35-mph zone, ignored a deputy's attempt to stop her and only stopped when a PIT maneuver was imminent. Officers found the driver uninsured, unbelted, using a phone and operating a vehicle with suspended registration. She was booked on multiple charges and commenters mocked her claim that her rights were violated because she wasn't allowed to drive home first.
Georgia Driver Who Speeded, Ignored Stop and Demanded to Drive Home Says Her Rights Were Violated

It's remarkable what some drivers will say after being pulled over. In Bibb County, Georgia, an unnamed woman driving a Honda at 54 mph in a 35-mph zone was taken into custody after resisting a traffic stop and claiming her rights were violated because the deputy wouldn't let her drive home first.
According to a report from Cpl. Dalton Palmer shared on the Bibb County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the traffic stop began when the deputy attempted to initiate a stop and the driver continued through an intersection and left her lane on multiple occasions. The vehicle was only brought to a halt when Palmer prepared to execute a PIT maneuver.
After officers secured the scene and ran checks, they discovered several additional violations: the driver was uninsured, was not wearing a seat belt, was using a cellphone while driving, and the Honda's registration was suspended. Because of those findings plus resisting the stop, she was booked on a lengthy list of offenses and transported to the county Law Enforcement Center.
“She said he was ‘violating her rights because she did not allow her to drive home before stopping,’” the post noted.
The Facebook post drew incredulous reactions from readers. One commenter wrote, "'Violated her rights'? Priceless. That's why I was a firefighter, not an LEO. I would not have been able to keep a straight face." Another added, "Wonder why it's always the rights getting arrested — can rights put that pedal to the metal or talk on their cell phone or not put their seat belt on?"
This incident underscores that refusing to comply with a lawful traffic stop and committing multiple violations can quickly escalate an encounter and lead to multiple charges.
