'Master manipulator' murder suspect Isabelle Johnson arrested

Isabelle Johnson, 38, has been arrested and charged in the murder of 43-year-old Jason Christopher Coulthart, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office said. Coulthart was reported missing on May 24 and his remains were found in a shallow grave on a Freeport property on June 25. A DNA test in July confirmed the identification. Investigators described Johnson as a "master manipulator" who used multiple identities; five others have also been arrested in the case.

Investigation Timeline

Coulthart was reported missing on May 24 after he was last seen leaving the College Condominiums complex. Unidentified remains were located on June 25 on a Freeport property after investigators identified the burial site. A DNA match in July confirmed the remains were those of Jason Christopher Coulthart.

Other Arrests

Five additional people have been arrested and charged in connection with the case, including two individuals accused of helping Johnson avoid investigators, the sheriff’s office said. Authorities did not release additional details about those arrests or the specific charges.

The investigation remains active and officials have said more information will be released as it becomes available.
