The same East Los Angeles AutoZone was looted twice within 24 hours during large early-morning street takeovers at Olympic Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue. Masked participants entered the store a second time on Sunday morning despite it being boarded after a Saturday break-in. Management says the location will be closed for two to three days for wiring and electrical repairs, and employees will be unpaid during the shutdown. Authorities reported no injuries and no arrests; police also noted a separate South LA takeover that included fireworks and a burning car.
Masked Mob Strikes Same East LA AutoZone Twice In 24 Hours During Massive Street Takeovers

Video circulating on social media shows a large, masked group smashing windows and removing merchandise from an AutoZone in East Los Angeles on Sunday — the second reported looting of the same store within 24 hours.
The incidents unfolded around the busy intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, where organizers say more than 100 vehicles swarmed the area during early-morning street takeovers. The footage shows people entering the AutoZone even though the storefront had been boarded up following an earlier break-in on Saturday morning.
What Happened
According to local reports and video shared online, the first break-in occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, when burglars smashed windows and ransacked aisles. The store was boarded up afterward, but a second takeover at roughly 3 a.m. Sunday saw a large crowd — many with faces covered — force their way into the location and leave with unpaid merchandise.
Social-media personality Kevin Dalton posted the footage to X with a sarcastic remark aimed at California Governor Gavin Newsom and condemned the suspects as 'felonious hooligans.'
Local Impact and Response
The AutoZone's local manager told reporters the store will remain closed for an estimated two to three days while workers repair damaged wiring and other electrical systems. Management also said employees at that location will be unpaid during the closure.
Authorities reported no injuries and no arrests in connection with either incident. LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service that police encountered large crowds, fireworks and a vehicle burning in the roadway during a separate takeover early Saturday in the Gramercy Park area at Western Avenue and Century Boulevard.

Video from the scene has been widely circulated on platforms such as Instagram and ONSCENE.TV, and local outlets including ABC7 and City News Service covered the events. Law enforcement said they were monitoring the situation, but as of the latest reports there were no arrests tied to the AutoZone incidents.
