Joyin US Corp. expanded a recall of its Sloosh pool dive sticks to about 404,000 units after the CPSC found the rigid, hard-plastic sticks exceed federal compression limits and pose an impalement hazard. The recall covers models 40041, 40003, and 16154, and includes 254,000 units recalled earlier on June 11, 2026. Consumers should stop using and discard the sticks, photograph the disposal, and send proof to Joyin to receive redesigned, compliant replacements.

Joyin US Corp. has expanded a recall of its Sloosh pool dive sticks to about 404,000 units after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) found the hard-plastic sticks violate federal safety limits and create an impalement hazard for children.

What’s Being Recalled

The recall covers cylindrical, hard-plastic dive sticks sold in assorted colors and packaged in Sloosh water toy sets bearing model numbers 40041, 40003, and 16154. The new total includes roughly 254,000 dive sticks that were part of an earlier recall announced on June 11, 2026.

Why They’re Dangerous

Agency testing found these rigid dive sticks exceed the allowable compression limit, which creates a risk that a child falling or landing on one in shallow water could suffer a serious piercing (impalement) injury. The CPSC also warned that facial and eye injuries are possible when children reach for the sticks underwater.

Where and When They Were Sold

  • Sold online through major retailers including Amazon, Temu, Wayfair, Target, and Shein.
  • Available between 2017 and 2025, depending on the model.
  • Priced generally between $10 and $22.

What Consumers Should Do

The CPSC advises owners to stop using these dive sticks immediately, keep them away from children, and discard them. Families who still have original packaging should check Sloosh model numbers for 40041, 40003, and 16154.

Consumers should photograph the discarded dive sticks as proof of disposal and submit the image to Joyin using the contact information provided in the recall notice. After verifying the disposal photo, Joyin will provide redesigned dive sticks that comply with federal safety standards.

Additional Tips

  • If you acquired pool toys secondhand, received them as gifts, or no longer have packaging, inspect pool bags, toy bins, and storage areas for hard-plastic, cylinder-shaped Sloosh dive sticks in assorted colors.
  • At the time of the expanded recall, the CPSC reported no injuries associated with these products.

If you believe you own a recalled item and need help identifying it or submitting a disposal photo, consult the full recall notice from the CPSC or contact Joyin directly using the information in the recall announcement.
