A Bensalem Township school bus aide, identified by police as Ali Khan, 62, was arrested after investigators say he inappropriately touched a 14‑year‑old student with special needs and appeared to photograph or record her with a cellphone, officials said.
According to the Bensalem Township Police Department, the alleged incidents occurred while the student was riding the bus to Bensalem High School's extended school year program on July 29 and July 30. Surveillance video from inside the bus reportedly shows Khan directing the student to a specific seat and touching her while fastening her seatbelt and again after she was seated. Police also say the footage appears to show Khan engaging in sexual conduct and using a cellphone to photograph or record the girl; the footage reportedly shows him placing his hand inside his pants during the encounter.
The footage showed Ali Khan putting his hand inside his pants and touching himself during the encounter.
"Bensalem Police would like to commend the victim of this assault for having the courage to come forward and report the assault," the department said, adding thanks to the Bensalem School District for its assistance. "The safety and well‑being of our students continues to be the top priority..."
Khan was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, indecent assault and related offenses. He was being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post 10% of his $500,000 bail.
The Bensalem Township School District said the employee was immediately removed from service and from the district while criminal and administrative investigations proceed. In a statement the district said it acts quickly to protect students, support families and cooperate fully with law enforcement, and that it will conduct a thorough administrative review while respecting the integrity of the criminal investigation.
Khan's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 11, 2026. The incident remains under investigation and officials ask anyone with relevant information to contact the Bensalem Township Police Department.
