The Mega Millions jackpot was reset to $50 million ahead of the Friday, July 31 drawing after an anonymous Florida ticket claimed an $800 million prize (cash option: $344.2 million) on July 28. That winner is the third Mega Millions jackpot winner of the year.
Friday's Winning Numbers
4, 18, 26, 43, 51 — Mega Ball: 4
The next drawing is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 11 p.m. ET.
Payout Options
Jackpot winners can choose between two payout methods:
- Lump Sum: A one-time, immediate cash payment.
- Annuity: An initial payment followed by annual checks that increase by 5% each year.
How To Play
To play Mega Millions, buy a ticket at many convenience stores, gas stations or grocery stores; in some states tickets can also be purchased online. Each play requires six numbers: five white balls (1–70) and one gold Mega Ball (1–24). If you prefer not to pick your own numbers, request a "Quick Pick" or "Easy Pick" and let the terminal randomly generate them for you.
Multiplier Change
Mega Millions tickets now include a built-in multiplier that boosts non-jackpot prizes by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x. Previously, players paid an extra dollar to add the "Megaplier."
