Savannah Guthrie posted an emotional Instagram plea asking her mother's captors to reveal Nancy Guthrie's location nearly six months after the 84-year-old disappeared. Nancy was last seen around 9:50 p.m. on Jan. 31 near her Tucson, Arizona, home and reported missing Feb. 1. Investigators received multiple ransom notes—one reportedly demanded $6 million in cryptocurrency—but several were later deemed fake; the FBI is still treating the case as a possible kidnapping for ransom. The family has offered a $1 million reward, and surveillance footage showing a masked person on the home's front steps remains the most significant lead.
Savannah Guthrie Pleads With Mother's Captors: "Tell Us Where To Look" — FBI Treating Case As Possible Kidnapping

NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie has renewed a public appeal for information about her mother, Nancy Guthrie, nearly six months after the 84-year-old went missing. In an emotional Instagram video shared Monday, Guthrie addressed whoever may be holding her mother and urged them to "do the right thing" and reveal Nancy's whereabouts.
"So I'm asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her,"
Nancy Guthrie was last seen alive around 9:50 p.m. on Jan. 31 after being dropped off at her home near Tucson, Arizona, following a family dinner. She was reported missing the next day, on Feb. 1.
In the days after her disappearance, multiple ransom notes were circulated to news outlets and family members; one alleged note demanded $6 million in cryptocurrency. Several of the notes have since been determined to be fraudulent, but the FBI confirmed earlier this month that it continues to investigate the case as a potential kidnapping for ransom. Other notes have been released publicly but remain unverified by authorities.
The Guthrie family has offered a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy's recovery. To date, no suspects have been publicly identified. Investigators say the most significant lead remains surveillance footage that appears to show a masked individual on the front steps of Nancy Guthrie's home on the night she vanished.
After a brief leave of absence, Savannah Guthrie returned to NBC's Today show in April and has continued to use her platform and social media to keep attention on the case. In June she made a short on-air appeal, saying the family is "in agony" and urging the public to come forward with any information.
Authorities request anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff's Department or the FBI. The family and investigators continue to ask the public to share tips that could lead to Nancy Guthrie's safe return.
