Naked Woman Accused of Attacking Mother With Handsaw, Striking Mother and Dog With Pickup Before Police Chase

A 46-year-old woman in Roy, Pierce County, Washington, is accused of a violent, bizarre series of events that began at home and ended with a police pursuit and an arrest while unclothed, authorities say.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 11:33 a.m. on Friday, July 17, to the 65000 block of 302nd St. Ct. S after a domestic violence call. The victim reported that her adult daughter, identified only by age, was completely naked and had allegedly assaulted her with a handsaw.
Investigators say the daughter also prevented the mother from calling 911, forcing the victim to flee the residence and borrow a neighbor's phone to summon help. The situation escalated when the woman got into a red pickup truck and drove toward her mother, striking the mother and the family dog, the sheriff's office reported. A neighbor who accompanied the victim was not struck.
Both victims told deputies the driver backed up as if trying to hit them again before driving away. Responding deputies located the pickup and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop. Officers say she swerved near a deputy who was setting up stop sticks and nearly struck that officer.
A pursuing deputy performed a PIT (precision immobilization technique) maneuver on the fleeing truck. That maneuver caused the pursuing patrol car to collide head-on with a civilian vehicle. A female civilian and a police officer suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital; both vehicles were totaled.
Video released by authorities shows the disabled pickup stopped on the roadway as multiple officers approached with weapons drawn. The woman remained inside despite repeated commands to exit. An officer opened the driver's door and took her into custody; she was still unclothed and, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, appeared to be experiencing a mental health crisis. She was evaluated by mental health professionals after her arrest.
The 46-year-old faces multiple charges, including several counts of first-degree assault (domestic violence), eluding, resisting arrest and other outstanding warrants, the PCSO said. The investigation remains active.
