Brazen Daylight Heist: Minion 'Todd' Stolen From Carney’s Train on Sunset Boulevard

A beloved Minion statue known as "Todd" was stolen in a brazen daylight theft from Carney’s Train Restaurant on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, employees say.
The display—an advertising installation nicknamed Irene—was installed on June 18 by Monster City Studios to promote the animated film Minions and Monsters. The elaborate build included more than 18 Minion figures and an 80-foot-long slime monster draped over the roof of the 1920s passenger coach. Studio representatives said the installation was heavy and required a support structure to protect the century-old train.
According to The WeHo Times, a person drove up in broad daylight, removed the Minion statue known as Todd from the restaurant’s railing and drove off. Employees say the posted security guard was left stunned by how quickly the theft occurred.
Local staff and authorities are asking anyone with information or tips about Todd’s whereabouts to come forward. No public reports of arrests have been released.
Context: The seventh film in the Despicable Me franchise, Minions and Monsters, opened nationwide on July 1.
