IDF Kills Two Assailants After Molotov Attacks Near Karmei Tzur in West Bank

The IDF said two assailants were killed and a third wounded after Molotov cocktails were thrown toward the Karmei Tzur settlement in the West Bank during a targeted operation, with no IDF casualties reported. Firefighters extinguished blazes caused by the incendiary devices and burning tires while units swept the area for further threats. Separately, Israeli security agencies identified five Hamas operatives in Turkey accused of directing attacks and coordinating recruitment, weapons and funding. Paris Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire conferred honorary citizenship on Gaza and West Bank civilians and Palestinian journalists as a gesture of solidarity.

The Israel Defense Forces said they killed two assailants and wounded a third after the suspects hurled Molotov cocktails toward the Karmei Tzur community in the West Bank during a targeted counterterrorism operation on Sunday night.

Operation Details

According to the military, soldiers observed several individuals setting tires alight and launching improvised incendiary devices toward the settlement. Troops opened fire after the attacks, killing two of the assailants and wounding another. IDF units then swept the area to look for additional threats while local firefighters worked to extinguish the blazes caused by the thrown Molotov cocktails and burning tires.

No IDF casualties were reported in the operation.

Separately, the IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced that they exposed five Hamas operatives based in Turkey who were allegedly directing military actions in Israel and the West Bank. Authorities say the operatives oversaw recruitment of individuals willing to carry out attacks and coordinated the smuggling of weapons and funds into the region.

Also on Sunday, Paris Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire bestowed honorary citizenship on civilians from Gaza and the West Bank, as well as on Palestinian journalists. The mayor said the gesture expressed solidarity with those suffering and a commitment to peace, international law, and a two-state solution.
