Bahrain on Saturday condemned new Iranian strikes on the kingdom and neighbouring Kuwait as a "blatant" breach of sovereignty and urged Tehran to stop the attacks. Bahrain Condemns Fresh Iranian Strikes; US Intercepts Missiles and Drones

Bahrain on Saturday condemned a new round of strikes by Iran that targeted the island kingdom and neighbouring Kuwait, calling the attacks a "blatant" violation of their sovereignty and urging Tehran to stop what it described as "unjustified" aggression.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry appealed for de-escalation and said the kingdom remains committed to peace and regional stability. The ministry made clear that patience should not be mistaken for leniency and that defending Bahrain's sovereignty, security and people is a red line that will not be compromised, according to the official BNA news agency.
Warning sirens sounded across Bahrain earlier on Saturday. The Interior Ministry — noting that Bahrain hosts the US 5th Fleet — advised residents to move to the nearest place of safety as civil defence procedures were activated.
The Kuwaiti army reported that its air defences intercepted "hostile" missile and drone attacks, and Kuwait's civil aviation authority told state news agency Kuna that air traffic has since resumed after a temporary closure of the country's airspace.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said US forces intercepted six ballistic missiles launched by Iran toward Kuwait and Bahrain, and that a seventh missile missed its intended target. US forces also reported shooting down four Iranian drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz before conducting strikes on coastal surveillance radar sites on Iran's Qeshm Island and in Goruk.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had attacked enemy bases in the region in response to earlier US strikes, escalating an already tense cycle of retaliatory actions.
Context: The recent exchanges come amid heightened tensions since late February, when the United States and Israel began a bombing campaign against Iran. Gulf states that host US military facilities have been repeatedly targeted in the ensuing weeks.
The situation remains fluid. Bahraini and Kuwaiti authorities urged residents to follow official advice and prioritise safety while international actors call for restraint to prevent further escalation.
